A firenzei Bargellóban őrzött, Philpot fényképén egymás mellett látható Ádám és Szent Pál tábláról Claude Madeleine Grivaud de la Vincelle 1817-es könyvében található illusztráció, s a Szent Pál életéből vett jeleneteket ábrázolóról Dominique Vivant Denon 1829-ben megjelentetett négykötetes sorozatának első darabja is közölt egy litográfiát.

We can find an illustration of the Adam and Saint Paul panels, which appear next to each other on Philpot’s photograph and are now in the Bargello in Florence, in the book of Claude Madeleine Grivaud de la Vincelle, published in 1817. The first of the four-part series of Dominique Vivant Denon published in 1829 includes a lithograph of the carving which shows scenes of the life of Saint Paul.

A műtárgyfényképek fotómechanikai úton történő nyomdai sokszorosításának fontos állomása volt az a 74-74 illusztrációt tartalmazó két album, mely Jules Labarte 1864 és 1866 között négy kötetben Párizsban kiadott, Histoire des arts industriels au moyen âge et à l’époque de la renaissance című kiadványa mellékleteként jelent meg, s melyben a hagyományos rézmetszetek mellett számos cromolitográfiát és fotolitográfiát találunk. Labarte munkájának 1872–1875 között három kötetben megjelent új kiadásában a korábbi albumokból átvett illusztrációk mellett a legújabb technikával: a heliográfiával készült képek is szerepelnek.

An important step in the print­ed photomechanical reproduction of artwork photographs were the two albums con­taining 74-74 illustrations which were an appendix of the publication titled Histoire des arts industriels au moyen âge et a l’époque de la renaissance, published by Jules Labarte in Paris in four volumes between 1864 and 1866. In this we can find not only traditional engravings but also several chromolithographs and photolithographs. In the new edition of Labarte’s work which was published between 1872 and 1875 in three volumes, there are both illustrations taken from the earlier albums and pictures made with the newest technology, the photogravure (héliogravure).
